TP-Link TL-WN722N High Gain Wireless USB Adapter

The TP-Link TL-WN722N is a 150Mbps High Gain Wireless USB Adapter designed to provide reliable wireless connectivity for compatible desktop and laptop computers. It combines Wireless N technology, a detachable high-gain antenna, USB connectivity, and convenient security features in a practical design. Whether you need to add WiFi to a desktop computer or replace an existing wireless connection, this adapter provides a simple networking solution for everyday home and office use.

Up to 150Mbps Wireless Performance

The TP-Link TL-WN722N supports IEEE 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n wireless standards and provides theoretical wireless speeds of up to 150Mbps. Operating on the 2.4GHz frequency band, it is suitable for common online activities including web browsing, email, social media, online learning, internet calls, and standard video streaming.

Actual wireless speed can vary depending on your router, internet package, distance, interference, connected devices, and surrounding network environment.

4dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna

A major advantage of the TP-Link TL-WN722N WiFi Adapter is its 4dBi high-gain omnidirectional antenna. The external antenna is designed to provide improved wireless signal reception compared with compact adapters that depend entirely on smaller internal antennas.

The antenna is detachable and uses an RP-SMA connection, giving users additional flexibility. Its position can also be adjusted according to the location of the computer and wireless router.

Convenient USB Connectivity

The adapter uses a USB 2.0 interface, allowing users to add wireless networking without opening the computer case or installing an internal network card. Simply connect the adapter to a compatible USB port, install the appropriate TP-Link driver, and connect to an available wireless network.

This straightforward installation makes the TL-WN722N suitable for both experienced users and people looking for an easy wireless upgrade.

WPS Connection

The TP-Link TL-WN722N includes a WPS button for convenient wireless security setup with compatible routers. WPS can simplify the connection process by allowing supported devices to establish a protected wireless connection without manually entering lengthy network credentials during initial setup.

Wireless Network Security

The TL-WN722N supports established wireless security options including WEP, WPA, and WPA2 encryption. These technologies help protect wireless communication against unauthorized network access when the adapter is connected to a properly configured router.

For stronger network protection, users should select the most secure encryption method supported by their router and connected devices.

Ideal for Desktop and Laptop Computers

The TP-Link TL-WN722N 150Mbps Adapter is a practical option for desktop computers without built-in WiFi. It can also provide an alternative wireless connection for compatible laptops with damaged, outdated, or unsuitable internal wireless hardware.

The high-gain external antenna makes the adapter particularly useful where flexible antenna positioning is preferred.

Flexible Antenna Placement

The adjustable antenna gives users control over adapter positioning than compact USB WiFi solutions. By changing the antenna direction or using the supplied USB extension cable where included, users can position the adapter conveniently around a workstation. This can be helpful when a desktop tower is located beneath a desk or close to objects that may affect wireless reception. Network conditions differ between locations, so experimenting with placement can help users find a suitable position for stable connectivity without changing their router setup.

Practical Everyday WiFi Solution

Overall, the TP-Link TL-WN722N combines 150Mbps Wireless N connectivity, a detachable 4dBi antenna, USB 2.0, WPS, and established wireless security features. Its simple installation and versatile design make it suitable for home, office, study, and everyday networking environments.

For users seeking an easy way to add 2.4GHz wireless connectivity to a compatible computer, the TL-WN722N provides a convenient balance of performance, flexibility, and usability.
